Rhymes for Reading is a collection of over 60 photocopiable, phonically decodable rhymes for children working on Phases Two to Four of Letters and Sounds, which enables children to practise and apply phonic knowledge in a ‘real’ reading context from a very early stage. The rhymes feature a range of simple poetry forms and common Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 themes, and can be used throughout the year in phonics sessions and in other areas of learning. Accompanying teaching notes focus on phonic skills, vocabulary and comprehension, and help you to use the rhymes in your phonics teaching.
